August Book Haul

Everyone knows what these types of posts are about right? Just in case though… This post will showcase what books that I purchased or received during the month of August. Normally, I would not be able to do this, but a discount outlet opened up in my town and I went a bit mad, as you will see.

Magic Kingdom: For Sale/Sold by Terry Brooks starts where Local Used Bookstore Purchases are.

I also purchased several books in the young adult horror series “Nightmare Hall” by Diane Hoh!

These are all the books I purchased in August! Yes, I bought way too many books. I am invested in some more than others, especially after finding out some of these are the third book in a series. 🙂 I will have to check for the first few books before I read those. My top five want to reads from all of these are as followed (I want to read them all, but some are more priorities for me):

  1. Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann
  2. Universal Harvester by John Darnielle
  3. Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King
  4. Rising Strong by Brene Brown
  5. Evicted by Matthew Desmond

What is a book you purchased in August? Let me know down in the comments!

    What a wonderful haul!!

    Couple of things…

You is fascinating! I’ll be interested in seeing your review. The TV series based on the book begins on September 9 at 10:00 pm airing on Lifetime.

I read Valley of the Dolls when I was about 14-years old (sneaked it from my aunt while babysitting) and it was shocking at the time. I wonder how it stands up now. But, it’s pure delish!

Looks like you’re reading Garwood’s contemporary series. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for visiting Jonetta! I am hoping “Valley of the Dolls” stands the test of time. I have been wanting to read it for a long time, but just never got around to it. “You” is a book that I have seen other people review and just seemed like one I would want to read at some point, so when I saw it for cheap I picked it up. I know I won’t have it read by the time the Lifetime series premieres, but if I enjoy it I will definitely give the series a chance. Thanks for letting me know about it. In regards to Garwood’s books. 3 & 4 were on sale for the kindle. They sounded interesting, so I bought them. I need to get 1 & 2 at some point when they are a bit cheaper as well. As I said earlier, thanks for visiting. So glad to have your comment here!

I have never heard of Zafon, but I have always meant to read Harkness’s books. She seems like someone that I would enjoy. Thanks for commenting and visiting Jen! Loved seeing a couple books you have on tap to eventually read.
