Music Monday #5

The Tattooed Book Geek does this every monday, which appears to be where the idea originated with, thus credit goes to him. I know of it because of The Past Due Review, who also does it every monday.
I have decided to participate as well. Every Monday I will post another new song that I want to share with you. My focus will be music that inspires me, gets me moving, or something similar. So here goes!

Reason:

I heard this song for the first time during a scene on “As The World Turns” when John Dixon was visiting a gravesite for a child he had just lost. It was one of the most gut-wrenching scenes I ever saw. You could feel the loss of this character. The song has stuck with me for many years. It reminds me to tell the ones we love now that we love them because we never truly know how long we have with them.

If Life is So Short
The Moffats

Isn’t it funny
How times seems to slip away
So fast
One minute you’re happy
The other you’re sad
But if you give me one more chance
To show my love for you is true
I’ll stand by your side
Your whole life through
If life is short
Why won’t you let me love you
Before we run out of time
If love is so strong
Why won’t you take the chance
Before our time has come
If life is so short
If life is so short
Love is a word that explains
How I feel for you
And when you’re in my arms
All my dreams come true
And when you’re not around
You can’t hardly see
These tears that I’m crying
Now are for you to be with me
If life is short
Why won’t you let me love you
Before we run out of time
If love is so strong
Why won’t you take the chance
Before our time has gone
If life is so short
If life is so short
